Nature

If you get the chance, spend some time outside this weekend. Observe and enjoy nature. Breathe some fresh air that hasn’t been pumped through vents. Take in some light that isn’t fluorescent. Look at colors that aren’t painted on walls. Listen to the wind blowing leaves around instead of the television. Take your time instead of rushing.

Being in the presence of nature is one of the greatest ways of getting the mind and emotions settled. After by breakup from an emotionally abusive relationship, where I moved out on my own, the very first place I decorated was my balcony. I bought ornamental grasses and a tomatoes plant, which put them in some nice pots, and I bought an antique rattan rocker at a yard sale, so I bought some nice new cushions with a nice print of leaves on them and fixed that up as my statuary. I didn’t care about the living room I figured that would come a little at a time. Now that cold weather is setting in I brought that outside in to a corner of my living room. I brought the grasses in and the rocker along with the wind chimes, I have a nice waterfall that I had for my pond from the house I gave up which I put it in the corner because it looks like it is made from rock but it is fiberglass. I put candles in the little indentations that used to hold water, and I plan to buy some river rocks to put around the edge and in front of the sliding glass door where I placed the grasses. Now I have my little private statuary inside my home, and if I never get the rest of my place fixed the way I want it I will still be happy because I have my quiet, peaceful, tranquil spot that I can go to, to make me feel good every day.
That’s a good idea: if you don’t get the chance to get out to nature, bring it in near you. Thanks for visiting!
