Hi Lynne. First, I apologize for the delay in responding to your comment and questions. I am not a doctor, I am a Clinical Therapist. It sounds like a challenging story for your daughter. Sometimes people do turn to meds if they don't feel their other coping strategies are enough. In general, it is better to improve or develop new coping skills since medications tend to cover up symptoms instead of resolving deeper concerns.

I would be okay in giving some impressions or some tips if appropriate. Please recognize that I won't be doing therapy. Feel free to email me at devin212@123mail.org and we can discuss a few more specifics, without names of course. Thank you so much for sharing your concerns.

Take care, Lynne.

I'm quite more emotional. Lately I have realized that I should start working on balancing both of my emotional and mental. This post is somehow provided some additional information. Thanks. :)

I've been intrigued by the repression and suppression issue here. My daughter has had big issues of sexual abuse and suppression of these incidents (plural). Are you a doctor can you give me some tips if I share the story, of course no names. Her life has finally at 30 years evoved into the use of over the counter meds. to help herself cope. Her story is shocking in part, and much of it was out of her control. Can you advize???
